Card Selection

It took me a long time to select a Valentine’s card for my wife.

There were so many rejects, such as: “I love you like Kanye loves Kanye,” “I’m still not sick of you,” “If you were president, you would be Babe-raham Lincoln.”

The clerk said, “That’s the most expensive card I’ve ever seen.”

I’d not considered price. But how much could it be? It was a card not a car. So I felt good. Especially after she followed it up with, “It’s really nice!”

When you adore someone, honesty and generosity are more important than artifice and economy. That’s why Jesus deserves every extravagance I can offer him.
